Wilbraham & Monson Academy, situated on 400+ acres in Western Massachusetts, is an independent day and boarding school of 400 students in Grades 6
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
RESPONSIBILITIESWilbraham & Monson Academy seeks a full time Middle School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position will work with grades 6 and 7 in classes of fewer than 14 students per class. Responsibilities include-Collaborate with Dept Chair and MS Dean on curriculum development
- Create engaging lesson plans to foster critical thinking, reading and writing skills
- Employ culturally relevant and student centered pedagogical approaches
- Attend monthly department meetings
- Coordinate cross-curricular writing projects with science and history teachers, and work in conjunction with English 8 teacher
- Write comments each term to reflect student progress
- Assist with department curricular review and skills progression documents
- Collaborate with Deans and Academic Services specialists to support all studentsAll faculty are also teamed with 5-6 students to whom they will serve as an advisor, meeting once per week and being responsible for checking in on their academic and social well being and progress.
Faculty also offer a MS club that meets approximately every other week. Club offerings are student-centered and faculty-led, drawing on the skills and passions of the faculty member.
AFTERNOON / ATHLETIC PROGRAM
RESPONSIBILITIESAll faculty at Wilbraham & Monson Academy are also expected to participate in our afternoon program for two out of three seasons.
RESIDENTIAL
RESPONSIBILITIESFaculty who reside on campus are responsible for one night a week and one weekend a month of dorm supervision.
Faculty who reside off campus are asked to provide 4 weekends a year of student activity supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL
DEMANDSPhysical demands include dexterity for office machines including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Common physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and sitting or standing for extended periods.
