April 21, 2026 Notice is hereby given that the following position(s) are available for current Harper Creek Certified Staff members during the summer of 2026. All positions, including quantity needed, are pending student enrollment.
POSITIONS
: Summer School Teacher(s). Specific grade and subject areas are to be determined.
LOCATION
All Summer School will be held at the
High School SUMMARY:
Provide direct supplemental support services to at-risk students to ensure that all students meet high academic standards
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to:
  • Provide supplemental instructional support to at-risk students aligned with core curriculum, Common Core State Standards, and Essential Practices in K-8 literacy and mathematics using research-based strategies
  • Use student data to plan instruction, guide decision-making, and collaborate with colleagues to meet student needs
  • Maintain accurate student records, including monitoring notes, progress documentation, attendance tracking, and required summer program reporting
  • Complete and submit timesheets and other required documentation in accordance with district procedures
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and program information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
PAY RATE
$40.00 / hour per contract with a valid teaching certificate
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT
One Four-Week Session
  • Monday
  • Thursday each week June 8-11 June 15-18 June 22-25 June 29
  • July 2
APPROXIMATE TIMES:
8:15am
  • 12:45pm
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to someone with a valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate and be endorsed to teach in grade level and core subject(s). Prefer someone with successful experience as a classroom teacher as well as a strong background and demonstrated ability in ELA and/or mathematics instruction included but not limited to Essential Literacy Practices and Bridges. Ability to effectively use Illuminate/DNA. Must have an excellent attendance record; the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community; the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and pleasantly both orally and possibly in writing. Must have demonstrated the ability to motivate students and colleagues positively; and to work effectively with at-risk students and their parents, Must perform duties with awareness of all State and District requirements and Board of Education policies.
