May 14, 2026 Notice is hereby given that the following position(s) are available during the summer of 2026. All positions, including quantity needed, are pending student enrollment.
POSITION
(S): Summer School Credit Recovery Teacher (In-Person) using contracted online company
LOCATION
All K-12 Summer School Programming will be held in-person at the
High School SUMMARY:
Provide in-person direct supplemental support services to at-risk students to ensure that all students meet high academic standards, with focus on identified priority standards, and show mastery in the content area. Confer with Summer School Supervisor on student\ progress and service programming.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to: Work with the High School Principal and HCCAA Director to ensure that the academic and social emotional needs of identified students are met. Provide Social Emotional Learning lessons each day for students to attend Keep daily attendance records on Google sheet that will be transferred to data warehouse Contact students and families daily when absent. Connect students to outside services as needed Ensure the supplemental program is aligned with the core curriculum and Common Core State Standards as identified by the grade level subject teachers. Provide supplementary instructional support to learning and credit recovery. Supervise and instruct students during field trip experiences, if available Supervise students during district provided transportation to off site learning experiences, if available. Use data to drive instruction. Plan instruction by using data and by collaborating with colleagues. Differentiate instruction Maintain student monitoring notes and records progress. Complete activity/lesson plans in collaboration with summer programming educators when available Completes reporting for summer programming/monitor student attendance Complete weekly Time Sheet and submit to supervisor Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians Ensure all safety measures are followed Monitor student interactions and locations during assigned times Other duties as assigned by summer school supervisor
PAY RATE
$40.00 / hour per contract with a valid teaching certificate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate and be endorsed to teach in grade level and core subject(s). Prefer someone with successful experience as a classroom teacher as well as a strong background and demonstrated ability in ELA and/or mathematics , and/or science, and/or social studies instruction. Must also have an excellent attendance record; the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community, the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and pleasantly both orally and possibly in writing. Must have demonstrated the ability to motivate students and colleagues positives, to work effectively with at-risk students and their parents, Must perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of education policies.
