MacDowell Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated curriculum, teaching life skills and nurturing 4th & 5th Grade Teachers who can provide individualized and focused emotional intelligence through a supportive instruction that allows each student to achieve academic excellence and social responsibility. Duties and responsibilities of a teacher will include but are not limited to: Outstanding academic achievement and student character development Create a positive, achievement-oriented, joyful, and data-driven classroom that excites and invests students. Motivate students to reach and manifest high academic and behavioral standards. Build learning environments of respectful, achievement-oriented, optimistic, persistent, team-oriented, and joyful learners. Hold all students accountable for proper diligence and behavior in and out of school. Professional learning, development, and growth Collaborate with Deans, and other members of the school team to improve instruction, culture, and results. Utilize and maximize MPA's' Pacing Plan, quarterly assessments, data-analysis systems, professional development, and instructional strategies. Enthusiastically participate in formal and informal learning and development opportunities. Skills and Characteristics Mission-driven with extremely high standards for student achievement Excellent oral and written communications skills Problem-solving attitude with incredibly strong work ethic and humility A joy of learning and leading Strong instructional and classroom management skills Professional level of personal organization and planning Willingness to respond positively to feedback with a solutions-oriented attitude Mastery of and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Educational Background and Work Experience Bachelors Degree Required Previous Teaching Experience Preferred Certified Candidates Desired but Will Accept an Uncertified Candidate if there is willingness to seek valid state certification if needed.
