Summary Robert Kerr Elementary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer School Teacher to join our team for the upcoming summer session. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This full-time position will involve working with students in various grade levels to enhance their academic skills, promote engagement, and support their overall development during the summer months. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning goals.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate summer school programs and activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
• Foster a love of learning through creative and interactive teaching methods.
• Address and support the social-emotional needs of students, promoting a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere. Requirements
• Valid teaching certification or license in the state of Michigan.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
• Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for promoting their academic and personal growth.
• Availability to work full-time during the summer session, including preparation and planning days.
