Job Description
Summary Robert Kerr Elementary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer School Teacher to join our team for the upcoming summer session. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This full-time position will involve working with students in various grade levels to enhance their academic skills, promote engagement, and support their overall development during the summer months. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning goals.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to coordinate summer school programs and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Foster a love of learning through creative and interactive teaching methods.
- Address and support the social-emotional needs of students, promoting a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere. Requirements
- Valid teaching certification or license in the state of Michigan.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for promoting their academic and personal growth.
- Availability to work full-time during the summer session, including preparation and planning days.
