tinkrLAB is looking for assistant teachers for our Summer STEAM Program. We have part time and full time positions available teaching school age students in East Lansing. We specialize in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) for ages 2years

• 6th grade.

We encourage hands on, sensory based, messy learning experiences.

Hours Required:

• Part time: 20 hours/week
• Full time: 35
• 40 hours/week.
• It would be between the hours of 8a-6p M-F
• There are a few weeks where we can be flexible if vacation time is needed or planned.

Job Outline Responsibilities:

STEAM experience is a bonus but not absolutely required. Maintain a positive attitude at all times and act in a professional manner when interacting with children, families, program participants, and other staff. Understand and follow all Michigan camp licensing rules and procedures for school-age programs. Continuously monitor children within your group and provide constructive and positive reinforcement when necessary. Follow the proper discipline protocol when necessary. Other duties as assigned. Must be at least 18 years of age. MUST be able to pass a background check and State of MI fingerprinting. Previous teaching experience in some capacity is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Physical ability sufficient to frequently bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds. Demonstrate professionalism. Be customer service orientated. Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences Be adaptable in situations with the understanding that kids are unpredictable. Have dependable transportation High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication. Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to accept supervision and guidance as well as constructive feedback. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations Monitor and assist school age kids during their daily activities. Ensure kids safety. Responsible for nurturing, interacting with, supporting, and creating a safe and inclusive environment

Pay:

• Pay will be based on experience. Range is $14
• 15/hour dependent on previous experience, class management skills, additional help needed etc.
