An educational team that makes extraordinary student experiences possible. What You'll Do Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans meeting curriculum standards and diverse learning styles. Organize and conduct hands-on learning that aligns with the curriculum and safety protocols. Ensure that all materials and equipment are maintained and properly handled. Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, labs, and presentations. Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives. Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution. Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students. Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff. Participate in continuous professional development. What We're Looking For B.A. in Theology required. M.A. or equivalent preferred. Certified catechist experience required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities. Strong understanding of subject concepts and ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner. Strong instructional skills and the ability to engage and motivate high school students. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. An understanding of the role that a Catholic education plays in carrying forth the mission of the Catholic Church and an acceptance without reservation that a Detroit Catholic Central High School Teacher performs a ministerial function. Willing to complete required Archdiocese of Detroit training. Willing to submit to drug testing, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
