The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment and promote healthy lifestyle choices among high school students. This full-time position requires a commitment to developing students' understanding of health-related topics, encouraging critical thinking, and supporting overall well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover various health topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and personal safety. Assess student performance through tests, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning. Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Stay current with health education trends and best practices, integrating new information into the curriculum. Organize and facilitate health-related activities, workshops, and events to promote student awareness and engagement. Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and community organizations to support student health initiatives and programs. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in health education. Uphold school policies and promote a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree in health education (MA, MC or MX), with another teachable endorsement. Valid state teaching certification in Health Education for high school level. Strong knowledge of health education curriculum and standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred. Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current health issues and educational practices. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
