Exempt Job Summary Discovery Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage middle school students in the study of science, fostering a love for inquiry, exploration, and critical thinking. The teacher will create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes scientific literacy. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national science standards. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles. Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback. Encourage students to think critically and creatively about scientific concepts and real-world applications. Organize and supervise hands-on laboratory experiments and field trips to enhance learning experiences. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and support school-wide initiatives. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education. Uphold school policies and contribute to a safe and respectful school culture. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. Valid state teaching certification for middle school science. Experience teaching middle school students preferred. Strong knowledge of science content and pedagogy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for instruction. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Passion for inspiring and motivating students to explore the wonders of science.Benefits:
