Job Description

Visitation School seeks a full-time (1.0) Lower School Teacher beginning August 2026. An independent Catholic day school, Visitation houses a co-ed Lower School, an all-girls Middle School, and an all-girls Upper School. A member of NAIS and accredited by ISACS, the school is located on a beautiful, wildlife rich, 60-acre campus in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Visitation's philosophy of educating students is based on Salesian Spirituality and follows the teachings of our co-founders Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane de Chantal and their emphasis on the little virtues. This commitment to Salesian Spirituality combined with small class sizes and access to many resources on campus creates a unique work experience. Visitation is a place where many voices, experiences, perspectives, positions and identities come together, and we remain united through our Catholic, Salesian heritage and humanity. The ideal candidate for this role: Is current and competent in the theories of elementary education. Enjoys collaborating with colleagues in and beyond the Lower School. Possesses the ability and energy to create an engaging and developmentally appropriate environment where students are known, loved, and challenged to be their best selves in and outside of the classroom. Supports the mission of Visitation School and models "Salesian Spirituality," which reflects gentle strength, dignity, patience, and Christian humanism. Is a lifelong learner. Possesses strong communication skills. Demonstrates a commitment to and support for a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
