We believe every student can become a successful reader - and that it is our responsibility to make that a reality. The Reading Interventionist plays a critical role in ensuring students at the Middle School level receive the targeted support they need to grow as readers. This position uses assessment data to identify student needs, deliver evidence-based interventions, and monitor progress over time. The interventionist independently manages scheduling and collaborates with staff to ensure services are aligned, effective, and equitable.Job Summary:
Reading is foundational to student success across all content areas. In this role, you will directly impact students' academic growth, confidence, and identity as learners. Your work ensures that students who need more receive more - through intentional, skillful, and responsive instruction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Student-Centered Data Use Analyze FAST screener and CAPT diagnostic data to identify students in need of intervention Use multiple data sources to determine root causes of reading challenges Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and growth Targeted Instruction and Intervention Plan and deliver evidence-based reading interventions for individuals and small groups Align intervention instruction with core classroom learning and grade-level expectations Differentiate instruction and adjust strategies based on student response Progress Monitoring and Responsiveness Conduct regular progress monitoring using district-approved tools Use data to evaluate effectiveness of interventions and make timely instructional adjustments Communicate student progress with staff, administrators, and families as appropriate Scheduling and Program Management Develop and manage a flexible intervention schedule that maximizes student access and minimizes disruption to core instruction Coordinate with teachers and support staff to ensure effective service delivery Independently manage time, priorities, and caseload with strong organization and initiative Collaboration and Professional Practice Partner with classroom teachers to align instruction and support student success Participate in team meetings, data discussions, and professional learning communities Contribute to a collaborative, equity-focused school culture centered on literacy growthQualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Valid teaching license in accordance with state and district requirements Demonstrated expertise in reading instruction Experience analyzing assessment data to inform instruction Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with middle school students Training in the Science of Reading and/or reading intervention experience Familiarity with FAST and CAPT assessments Core Competencies Belief inStudents:
