Role Summary As a High School ELL Teacher, you will lead the language development program for our 9th-12th grade multilingual scholars. You will facilitate a sophisticated, student-centered environment that balances intensive English acquisition with the academic demands of high school graduation requirements. Working as a vital advocate within the building, you will collaborate with content-area teachers to scaffold complex subjects, ensuring that language is never a barrier to a student's brilliance. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)
Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) (K-12).
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required; Master's degree, preferred. The "Road Warrior": Must have reliable personal transportation to travel between assigned buildings.
Middle School and Secondary Specialist:
You understand the unique academic and social-emotional needs of immigrant and refugee teenagers.
Equity Champion:
You are a fierce advocate for your students, ensuring they have full access to STEAM pathways, AP courses, and career-technical education.
Collaborative Coach:
You thrive on partnering with Science, Math, and Social Studies departments to co-plan and modify instruction for diverse learners. Your Impact (Key Duties)

Lead targeted instruction that develops high-level academic English in reading, writing, and professional communication. Secure the

Provide "push-in" or collaborative support in core content classrooms to make high-level academic concepts accessible.

Build strong, trusting relationships with our international families, helping them navigate the complexities of the American high school system.
Celebrate Diversity:
Lead building-wide initiatives that honor the linguistic and cultural wealth our students bring to the FFSD community.

Contract Days Travel Support:
Daily travel between sites is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided per district policy to cover your travel costs.
Salary:
Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule, determined by experience and education.
