Building the Future, One Project at a Time In our middle schools, the Industrial Technology lab is the ultimate "Think Tank." We are looking for a dynamic, visionary educator to lead our Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway courses. You aren't just teaching students how to use tools; you are teaching them the Engineering Design Process. From 3D modeling and automation to structural integrity and robotics, you are the mentor who turns a student's "What if?" into a physical reality. As part of the FFSD "New Chapter," you will lead a high-tech, hands-on environment where "failing forward" is celebrated as part of the creative process. Role Summary As a Middle School Industrial Technology and PLTW Teacher, you will inspire and support students in reaching their academic and technical goals. You will deliver high-quality, project-based instruction using the PLTW Gateway curriculum (such as Design & Modeling or Automation & Robotics ). Working in a supportive, student-centered environment, you will empower every scholar to use technology, math, and science to solve complex, real-world problems through hands-on construction and digital design. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)
Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Industrial Technology (5-9 or 9-12) or a related field with the appropriate Middle School endorsement.
PLTW Certified:
Completion of (or willingness to complete) Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Core Training is required.
Degree Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required; Master's degree, preferred. The "Maker"
Mindset:
You are comfortable with both traditional hand tools and modern tech like 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics kits.

Lab:
Design and facilitate engaging PLTW modules that challenge students to design, prototype, and test their own inventions.
Foster Computational Thinking:
Guide students through introductory coding and automation, helping them understand how software and hardware interact.
Safety & Craftsmanship:
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional lab environment where students learn the value of precision, safety protocols, and high-quality work. Collaborate for
Success:
Partner with Math and Science teachers to highlight the interdisciplinary nature of the STEAM mindset.
Career Exploration:
Help 7th and 8th graders discover the vast array of career pathways available in engineering, manufacturing, and the skilled trades.

Salary:
Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule, determined by experience and education level.
