Middle School Social Studies and Religion Teacher

Job Summary The Middle School Social Studies and Religion Teacher at Christ the King Catholic School is responsible for providing high-quality, faith-centered instruction in social studies and religion to middle school students. This role supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and faith formation while fostering a respectful, engaging learning environment aligned with Catholic values and the mission of the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in middle school Social Studies and Religion.
Teach social studies content such as history, geography, civics, and culture while promoting critical thinking and analysis.
Provide systematic instruction in Catholic theology, Scripture, Church teachings, morals, and traditions.
Integrate Catholic values and faith formation into daily instruction and classroom culture.
Develop and implement lessons that address diverse learning styles and academic needs.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional practices.
Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and expectations.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and campus ministry to support student learning and school initiatives.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school events.
Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (required).
Teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teachings (preferred).
Experience teaching middle school students (preferred).
Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
