Job Description

Montessori Secondary Teacher (Middle & High School) 104 Commercial Boulevard, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 From $17 an hour - Full-time From $17 an hour - Full-time We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Montessori Secondary Teacher to inspire middle and high school students through innovative teaching methods rooted in Montessori philosophy. This position offers the opportunity to shape young minds by delivering engaging lessons across a variety of subjects, including math, literacy, science, history, and more. The ideal candidate will bring passion, creativity, and expertise in working with adolescents to our vibrant educational community. Must be available from 7:45am to 3:45pm M-F. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with Montessori principles and curriculum standards for secondary education. Deliver engaging instruction across multiple subjects Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies. Mentor and support students academically and socially, encouraging independence and critical thinking. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement. Assess student progress through formative assessments and portfolio reviews; provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development Qualifications Preferred Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Montessori certification preferred. Proven classroom experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting. Strong knowledge of secondary school subjects including Math , Literacy education, and creative writing. Excellent communication skills for public speaking, parent engagement, and team collaboration. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and standardized testing procedures. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Prior private school or Montessori experience is highly desirable; background in special education or childhood development is advantageous.
