Academic Lead Teacher (Part-Time) - 26'-27' School Year TruElite Academy | Huntersville, NC Part-Time | 25 hours/week | 10-Month School Year About TruElite Academy TruElite Academy is an innovative homeschool academic accelerator designed for motivated middle school student-athletes (grades 5-8). Our program blends structured academics with elite athletic training, allowing students to train in the mornings and focus on academics during an afternoon learning block. Our small cohort model (10-12 students) provides individualized academic guidance, leadership development, and real-world enrichment opportunities. TruElite Academy partners with families to help student-athletes pursue excellence both in the classroom and in their sport. Position Overview TruElite Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Academic Lead Teacher to guide our middle school academic program. This educator will serve as the primary academic leader for our student-athletes and the main point of communication for families regarding academic progress. The Academic Lead Teacher will oversee the daily learning environment, support students using the Acellus online learning platform , facilitate enrichment activities, and cultivate a structured yet engaging classroom experience that promotes both academic achievement and character development. This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys small-group instruction, mentoring students, and building an innovative learning environment. Schedule Monday -
Friday Academic Block:
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Additional planning and coordination time included within the 20-25-hour weekly schedule Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership Serve as the academic leader of TruElite Academy's middle school program Monitor student progress within the Acellus online learning platform Provide academic guidance and support to students across grades 5-8 Ensure students stay on pace with coursework and academic goals Classroom Management Oversee a small cohort of 10-12 student-athletes Foster a structured, focused, and positive learning environment Manage daily classroom flow and student accountability Student Support & Enrichment Facilitate daily enrichment and social-emotional learning (SEL) activities Design weekly small-group sessions by grade level Organize and coordinate: Guest speakers Community service opportunities Leadership development activities Academic skill-building workshops Team Leadership Supervise and coordinate with 1-2 instructional assistants Provide guidance on supporting students academically Parent Communication Serve as the primary academic liaison with parents Provide regular updates on student progress and academic standing Maintain strong relationships with families to support student success Qualifications Required Licensed Middle School Teacher (or equivalent experience) Experience teaching grades 5-8 Strong leadership and classroom management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working with small groups of students Preferred Montessori or alternative education experience Familiarity with online learning platforms (Acellus or similar) Understanding of competitive or elite youth athletics Experience mentoring student-athletes Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an educator who: Thrives in a small, personalized learning environment Enjoys mentoring and developing students beyond academics Values discipline, structure, and leadership development Understands the balance between academics and elite athletics Is excited to help build and shape a new and innovative program Compensation Part-Time Position 25 hours per week 10-month academic calendar
