Middle School Science The College Preparatory & Leadership Academy - 2.0 Jamestown, NC Job Details Full-time 13 hours ago Qualifications Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description The Point is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Science Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in science to students, following the established curriculum while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach assigned science courses Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the state standards and curriculum guidelines. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying academic levels, learning styles, and needs. Assign and grade student work, including essays, projects, quizzes, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback. Foster an engaging, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to motivate and challenge students. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and behavioral notes. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns. Attend departmental meetings and collaborate with other teachers to support student achievement and department initiatives. Uphold school policies and maintain professional standards of conduct at all times. Support students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking, writing proficiency, and literary analysis. Provide classroom supervision and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies. Prepare and facilitate lessons for any required standardized testing or assessments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field. Teaching certification in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain certification. Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred. Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, writing instruction, and pedagogy. Ability to create a dynamic and positive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and academic success. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Flexibility and a proactive attitude to respond to the needs of the students and the school community.
