About Us
Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) is a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adolescents develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Since 2003, we've provided innovative academic and mental health services for youth who thrive best in supportive, non-traditional environments.
Ashuelot Valley Academy is a 220-day, non-public special education school serving students in grades 5-12. Our trauma-informed, relationship-driven approach empowers students academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position Overview
As a Middle School Classroom Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting both the academic progress and overall well-being of your students. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment.
What You'll Do
Deliver engaging, project-based instruction aligned with IEP goals and core curriculum
Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
Track and report student progress, grades, and IEP outcomes
Collaborate with academic and clinical staff to support student success
Implement classroom management and behavioral strategies as needed
Supervise and guide Teaching Assistants
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and curriculum development
Maintain documentation including lesson plans, reports, and assessments

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (required)
At least 21 years of age
Preferred:
Background in Education (English, Math, Science, etc.)
Preferred:
Experience working with youth, especially those with emotional or behavioral needs
Preferred:
NH DOE Teaching Certification (or willingness to obtain—we'll support you)
Experience working with children or adolescents in any setting (school, coaching, childcare, etc.)
