JOB DESCRIPTION

Phillipsburg School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Social Studies Teacher to serve students in a grades 6-8 setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional and classroom management skills, a passion for history and civic education, and the ability to engage middle school students through meaningful and interactive learning experiences. The candidate should be committed to fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and cultural awareness while creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and administration, as well as experience integrating technology and differentiated instruction into the curriculum, is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY

New Jersey Certification in Social Studies or a New Jersey Elementary K-6 Certification with a Middle School Specialization in Social Studies. Competence in NJ Student Learning Standards Ability to use primary and secondary sources Ability to individualize instruction Strong management and organizational skills Willingness to work collaboratively Required criminal history background check
