$50/hour We are seeking a skilled and dependable Carpentry Instructor to lead an summer / after-school enrichment class for middle school students in Long Island City, Queens. This is a hands-on role focused on introducing students to basic woodworking and carpentry skills in a safe, structured, and engaging environment. Responsibilities Teach basic carpentry and woodworking skills appropriate for middle school students Plan and lead a 1-hour weekly after-school class Ensure proper tool safety and classroom management at all times Create a positive, encouraging learning environment Communicate professionally with program leadership Qualifications Experience in carpentry, woodworking, or a related skilled trade Experience working with children or teens (school, camp, youth programs, etc.) Strong classroom management and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Preferred (Not Required) Ability to teach or support other creative activities (e.g., arts, design, media, hands-on projects) Background in education, youth development, or enrichment programming Why This Role Competitive pay at $50 per hour for a 1-hour weekly class Consistent schedule in a school-based setting Room for growth as programs expand into additional schools, days, or enrichment offerings
