Job Description

Trevor Day School is seeking Afterschool Teachers for our Preschool through Grade 5 students, starting in the fall of 2026. Children in the program attend different specialized classes. Those who are not registered for classes stay with the Afterschool Teachers. They complete homework, engage in free play, or join an organized group activity. The program runs from 2:30 to 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise a large group of children with other Afterschool Teachers. Oversee daily routines, including attendance, snacks, and dismissal. Develop and lead activities that engage children. Assist with specialized classes as needed: dance, sports, rollerblading, cooking, etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree preferred. Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level. Strong verbal communication skills.
Ideal candidates should possess:
Ability to work collaboratively. Creativity and flexibility. Positive attitude and a sense of humor.
Additional Opportunities:
Afterschool Teachers often work as Substitute Teachers during the day. Afterschool Teachers can work at various evening events during the year, providing childcare. Afterschool Teachers can help run a two-week camp in June. The pay for this position is $33 per hour.
