We are seeking an experienced, dynamic educator and curious learner to join a team of professionals responsible for innovative, authentic and student-centered programming. This appointment will begin in September for the 2026-2027 academic year. With the acceleration of technological tools and the need for real-life mathematical problem solving, this position requires the highest mathematical ability as well as collaborative, team-focused, and student-centered pedagogy. The mathematics curriculum in the Middle School covers Pre-Algebra to Geometry and the Upper School covers Algebra through Advanced Placement Calculus (BC) and extends into Advanced Post-Calculus electives. We are looking for a candidate who is collaborative and enjoys developing curriculum that is both rigorous and relevant to our students' lives Allendale Columbia is changing the way that education is delivered, and the desired candidate must enjoy an entrepreneurial environment in which they are part leader and part learner.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
? Creating curriculum and course materials that are current, interdisciplinary, and engaging; Ability to effectively teach Geometry - AP BC Calculus in the Upper School; Duties that engage the student body, including a family-style lunch, being an advisor, and sponsorship of student activities like clubs or other student-run events (please note: these items are negotiable depending on the candidate and amount of teaching that is assigned).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required with a master's degree in the field of mathematics preferred; Minimum of two years teaching and advising experience; A natural curiosity to learn and collaborate as well as a willingness to design innovative, and nontraditional learning opportunities for students; Capacity to teach the entire range of course offerings; Synthesis of emerging technologies in STEM into experiential learning opportunities for students; Highly adaptable and dedicated to lifelong learning and the ongoing improvement of student-centered practices.??
