Job Summary:
Shining Star Kids Academy is seeking a passionate and energetic Aftercare Teacher to engage school-age children in enriching activities during the after-school hours. As an Aftercare Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and stimulating environment that fosters learning, creativity, and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
Activity Planning:
Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging activities that align with the interests and developmental levels of school-age children. Foster an environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and positive social interactions.
Supervision and Support:
Provide supervision and support to children during aftercare hours, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with homework and offer guidance when needed.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with parents, updating them on their child's activities, achievements, and any concerns. Collaborate with other aftercare staff and teachers to maintain consistency in care and support.
Enrichment Programs:
Coordinate and facilitate enrichment programs, such as arts and crafts, sports, and educational games. Encourage participation and enthusiasm among children in various activities.
Positive Environment:
Cultivate a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes respect, cooperation, and a sense of community among children.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with school-age children in a childcare, educational, or recreational setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Creativity and enthusiasm for developing and implementing engaging activities. Ability to provide a supportive and nurturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education or coursework in early childhood education, elementary education, or a related field. First Aid and CPR certification.
Schedule:
Part-time position during after-school hours.
