Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant team as a Champions Before and Afterschool Teacher in Lake Oswego where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young learners and foster a love for education and growth. Champions partners with local elementary schools to provide before and after school care to kids ages 5-12. As a teacher at Champions, you will create engaging, safe, and nurturing environments that support children's development before and after school hours. Your energy and commitment will help shape positive experiences that empower children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while developing your skills in education, childcare, and youth engagement. We are looking for part time teachers with or without previous childcare experience - let us be your first step in your early childhood education journey! Responsibilities Lead engaging and structured activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and academic growth during before and after school programs Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school staff to support each child's unique needs, including those requiring special education accommodations Implement curriculum plans that incorporate elements of early childhood education, sports coaching, theater, and other creative outlets to enrich learning experiences Maintain organized attendance records Foster a warm and welcoming environment for kids to play and learn outside of school Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, babysitting, or similar roles is highly desirable Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred to ensure safety during program hours Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities can enhance program offerings Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members confidently Join us in creating a joyful learning environment where every child feels valued and inspired!
Pay:
$17.50 - $22.00 per hour
