Job Description

Job Summary RPASCA is hiring three Program Leads for the 2026-2027 school year! Our after-school program is expanding and we are looking for experienced, energetic teachers to add to our team. As a program lead, you should be comfortable leading groups of children independently and taking the initiative to complete the daily tasks and responsibilities assigned to you. The Program Leader Position is 21.5 hours weekly, with the opportunity for 8 hour shifts on non-school days. Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the philosophy and Center Policies of RPASCA
  • Assist in the planning and daily functions of the program under the supervision of the Program Director Preparing the learning environment and set up activities and materials Prepping, serving, and cleaning up snack Ensuring the space is clean at the end of the day Supervising the children in the gym or on the playground
  • Be confident in leading group activities Lead prepared activities for groups of up to 30 students Plan developmentally appropriate activities with consideration for student age and skill level
  • Keep the program environment well organized, orderly, and inviting Assist with opening and closing procedures Put back supplies and materials in the proper place
  • Use positive guidance and redirection to help students abide by RPASCA behavior expectations Program Director is available to assist in conflict resolution and behavior incidents Larger incidents should be reported to the Program Director to be documented
  • Properly supervise children Always know how many children you are supervising Keep children under your supervision within sight and sound at all times
  • Have a solid knowledge and understanding of DELC regulations and policies
  • Maintain a balance of time While spending time with children individually, have an awareness of the overall space Check in with staff frequently to ensure that daily tasks are being evenly distributed Expectations Maintain a positive attitude towards all children and staff Participate yearly in trainings, conferences, and professional development to meet the 15 hours required by the DELC Have the physical ability to assist in the care for and ensure the safety of a group of 15 children (DELC ratio 15:1) Complete all job responsibilities in a timely manner Arrive to work at your scheduled time.
If you are going to be late, inform the Program Director what time you will arrive. If you need to call out sick, notify the Program director in a timely manner Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment Complete the DELC required trainings within the first 30 days of employment
