Job Description

Position Summary:
Valley Inquiry Charter School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Middle School Teacher to join our team in delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program to students in grades K-8. As a charter school committed to fostering inquiry-based learning and holistic development, we are looking for educators who are passionate about shaping young minds in a dynamic, supportive, and enriching environment.
Positions Available:
This position is to fill a 6th-8th grade middle school Humanities/ELA teacher opening.
Salary:
Range is from $43,757.99-$68,218.44 and is dependent upon years of teaching experience, hours, certifications, and education.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery:
Implement the IB Middle Years Program curriculum, ensuring a coherent and progressive education experience that is inquiry-based and student-centered.
Lesson Planning:
Develop detailed lesson plans that meet the diverse learning needs of students and adhere to IB standards.
Assessment:
Conduct regular assessments of student performance, provide constructive feedback, and adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs.
Classroom Management:
Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages active learning, problem-solving, and collaborative work among students.
Parental Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their children's progress and encourage parental involvement in school activities.
Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with IB educational practices.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and the school administration to enhance the educational program and develop school-wide educational strategies.
Extra-curricular Activities:
Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.
Qualifications Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. A Master's degree or an advanced teaching qualification is preferred.
Certification:
Valid teaching certification. IB certification or training in the IB Middle Years Program is highly desirable.
Experience:
Previous teaching experience, especially in an IB or international education environment, is preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficient in classroom management and curriculum development. Ability to engage students in learning processes.
