Middle & Upper STEM Teacher Westminster Academy Douglassville, PA Job Details Part-time | Contract $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Behavior management Teamwork Teaching Certification Bachelor's degree Working with middle schoolers Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to teach various math and science classes in mixed classrooms. We are a faith-based hybrid academy, and so we are seeking a person who is comfortable in and excited about teaching in a Christian setting. We value strong morals, intentionality in teaching, individualism in learning, and an uplifting work environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a strong foundation in STEM subjects, and innovative instructional strategies to create engaging classroom experiences that promote academic excellence and lifelong learning. Duties Design and deliver compelling lessons in mathematics and science topics. Develop comprehensive curricula aligned with our educational standards and tailored to meet the needs of middle and upper school students. Utilize innovative instructional methods including project-based learning, research laboratory activities, dissection exercises, and technology integration to enhance student engagement. Manage classroom environments effectively through behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning atmosphere. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Mentor students individually or in groups to support academic achievement and personal development. Collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design; participate in faculty meetings. Support students requiring differentiated instruction. Engage in education administration tasks when necessary. Above all, live out your faith in and outside of the classroom, and pour into our students as much as possible! Experience Background in education (or related field) is highly desirable; bachelor's degree and/or teaching certificate preferred, but not required. Skilled in classroom management strategies that promote an inclusive environment conducive to learning for all students. Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, collaboration with colleagues, mentoring students, and engaging parents or guardians when appropriate.
