Middle School Teacher

Visitation BVM School 190 N. Trooper Road Norristown, PA 19403 610-539-6080 Middle School Science Teacher Visitation BVM Catholic School is hiring for a full-time middle school science teacher. Teacher would be responsible for a 7th grade homeroom and for teaching science to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade according to the curriculum and guidelines of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Interest or experience with STREAM education, effectively incorporating technology into the curriculum, and hands-on learning are preferred.

Duties:

Plan, develop, write, and implement the Archdiocese of Philadelphia curriculum in the above subjects Deliver hands-on and engaging science instruction including use of science lab and STREAM room Provide instruction in the above classes Adapt instructional style and methods as needed to appeal to different learning styles Communicate with parents about students' progress Establish and maintain an educational environment consistent with instructional goals Manage student behavior to encourage the best possible student educational experience Evaluate students' academic growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare various progress reports and report cards

Requirements:

College degree Teacher certification Updated clearances Pennsylvania State Police Background Check Child Abuse Clearance FBI fingerprinting Candidate must have all required clearances and must attend the Protecting God's Children class provided by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Archdiocese of Philadelphia application also required for employment.
