Before/After School Program Teacher

Summary:

Responsible for leading before and/or after school group work and activities with children ranging in age between 5 to 12 years while providing quality care and supervision to each child by performing the following duties. This job requires someone who is available Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 9:30 am and/or 3:30 pm- 6:00 pm. Prior experience working with school age children in a childcare center or school setting required. Additional hours may also be available, with a possibility of upward mobility within the company. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Engages in nurturing, positive, appropriate care and interactions with children.
• Leads and plans group work and group activities with children.
• Assists children with homework as needed.
• Meets and greets parents and children each day when they arrive and during departure.
• Provides consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the children at all times.
• Adheres to all established policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All applicants must be able to obtain Act 33/34, FBI, and NSOR clearances, and complete a physical screening.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in education, human services, or a related field preferred. At least one year of experience working with school aged children required.
