This role oversees daily activities, supervises classroom assistants, tracks attendance and student progress, communicates with families and school staff, and ensures all safety and program requirements are met. What You'll Do:

Recruit eligible students and maintain accurate rosters, logs, and dismissal procedures. Create, evaluate, and deliver engaging afterschool lesson plans and activities. Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom and follow school and program policies. Communicate consistently with the Programs Supervisor, day teachers, school staff, and families. Oversee the daily responsibilities of classroom assistants and support coordinated programming. Monitor emergency procedures, conduct drills, and follow safety protocols. Track attendance, site reports, parent communications, and student progress. Manage classroom supplies, inventories, and end-of-year returns. Complete all required forms, timesheets, surveys, and documentation. Report any concerns for student safety immediately. Attend required meetings, trainings, and events, including non-traditional hours. Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned.

What You Bring:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certificate preferred.

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage a classroom with professionalism, empathy, and consistency. Reliable, organized, and able to work independently within a structured program. Act 33, Act 34, FBI/DPW, and NSOR clearances at hire Approved Mandated Reporter training Dependable transportation Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in a primarily standing role Ability to handle frequent interruptions and maintain focus Comfort handling confidential student and family information
