Job Description

The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an independent, college preparatory Catholic day school for girls located in Villanova, PA, seeks a full-time Science Teacher to teach Middle School Science beginning August 26, 2026. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and student-centered individual versed in current trends and emerging ideas in education. This candidate will inspire students to learn earth, physical, and life sciences, be enthusiastic about faith-based girls' education, have a familiarity with instructional technology, and enjoy working within a team setting of shared ideas and constructive feedback. S/he should be passionate about teaching chemistry and science and be able to relate concepts and principles to students' everyday lives. S/he must be a team player with initiative, good judgment and solid problem-solving and communication skills.
The Science Teacher:
Teaches Middle School Science - Earth Science (6th grade) , Physical Science (7th grade), and Life Science (8th grade) Creates and delivers engaging curricula Exhibits strengths in educational technology Establishes a culture of positive communication with students, colleagues, and parents; responds to messages and inquiries in a timely manner Thoughtfully supports and engages diverse learners Creates an inclusive and equitable classroom/work environment Maintains a safe, orderly and supportive classroom Demonstrates a willingness to engage with students beyond the classroom and be actively involved in the community as a club or activity moderator, supporting a range of student interests and enrichment opportunities Qualifications include: A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or related subject; Master's degree preferred 3+ years of teaching experience Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum and methodology of effective teaching Skilled in the use of instructional technologies to enhance learning and deliver content High degree of cultural competency and commitment to girls' education Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter, along with three professional references, to Mrs. Ashley Gartner, Director of Middle School, at agartner@ndapa.org .
