About the
Role:
The Middle School Teacher plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic and social development of students typically aged 11 to 14 years. This position involves delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction across core subject areas, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. The teacher will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives. Additionally, the role requires ongoing assessment of student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues. Ultimately, the Middle School Teacher contributes to the holistic growth of students, preparing them for success in high school and beyond.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification/license for middle school education in the state of employment. Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards for middle school grades. Experience working with middle school-aged children in an educational setting. Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education or a specialized subject area. Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices. Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools. Training in social-emotional learning and student mental health support. Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles within a school setting.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards. Deliver instruction in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies using a variety of teaching methods. Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and observations, providing timely feedback to support improvement. Manage classroom behavior to create a positive and productive learning environment. Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development and address any academic or behavioral concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and technology integration. Support extracurricular activities and school events to foster student engagement and community building.
