After School Teacher (for Elementary-aged students) Kaleidoscope (After School program) James Island, SC Job Details Temporary | Part-time From $19 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After School Teacher to engage and inspire elementary-aged students in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. In this role, you will create a positive atmosphere that encourages learning, creativity, and social development. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help children thrive academically and personally while ensuring their well-being during after-school hours. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives through engaging activities and supportive guidance. Duties Lead structured activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, sports, theater, and educational games tailored for elementary students Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive environment Supervise children during free play, snack time, homework assistance, and organized activities to ensure safety at all times Implement basic first aid procedures when necessary and maintain a safe environment for all children Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to communicate student progress and address individual needs or concerns Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as required Encourage social skills development through group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and empathy Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain order while fostering a fun learning environment Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively to support positive conduct First aid certification or willingness to obtain training promptly Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive teaching methods Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members Passion for working with students and supporting their academic and emotional growth Experience in sports coaching or theatrical activities is a plus for creating dynamic programs Join us in shaping young minds by providing a safe space where elementary students can learn, grow, and have fun!
