Job Description

High School Principal and High School Assistant Principal Job Summary:
The High School Digital Arts and Design Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging instruction in digital media, graphic design, visual communications, animation, photography, video production, and related artistic technologies for students in grades 9-12. The teacher fosters creativity, critical thinking, technical proficiency, and career readiness while maintaining a positive, student-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials in digital arts and design. Teach courses such as graphic design, digital illustration, photography, video editing, animation, web design, and multimedia production. Instruct students in the use of industry-standard software and equipment, including Adobe Creative Cloud applications and digital media tools. Encourage creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and artistic expression through project-based learning experiences. Assess and monitor student progress through portfolios, projects, presentations, and other formative and summative assessments. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, artistic, and social-emotional needs of students. Maintain an organized, safe, and effective classroom and digital lab environment. Integrate technology and real-world applications into instruction to support college and career readiness. Sponsor or support student art exhibitions, competitions, publications, or digital showcases as appropriate. Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance in accordance with school policies. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events as required. Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Art Education, Media Arts, or a related field required. Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Art or related subject area preferred or required according to state regulations. Proficiency with digital design and media software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar programs. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques for high school students Experience working with high school students preferred Knowledge of instructional technology and the ability to integrate it into the high school curriculum Willingness to work with other teachers to promote interdisciplinary studies Outstanding references from current and former supervisors Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) report
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,079.23 per year
