Job Description

Clarendon Hall Summerton, South Carolina Clarendon Hall is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and Christ-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and create a positive classroom environment that supports both academic and spiritual growth. This position primarily includes teaching middle school science courses (grades 6-8). The teaching schedule consists of five instructional periods per day with one planning period. The contract period for this position is August 11, 2026 through May 31, 2027. We are also seeking candidates who have an interest in coaching girls athletics, as additional coaching opportunities may be available. Responsibilities Teach engaging and standards-based middle school science classes Develop lesson plans, assessments, labs, and hands-on learning activities Foster a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and accountability Integrate Christian values and biblical worldview principles into instruction Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration Maintain accurate grades and classroom records Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and student activities Support the overall mission and culture of Clarendon Hall Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (Education or Science-related field preferred) Teaching experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and families Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Clarendon Hall Preferred Qualities Interest in coaching girls athletics is strongly preferred Enthusiasm for hands-on and inquiry-based science instruction Ability to make science engaging and relatable for middle school students Collaborative and team-oriented mindset Compensation & Benefits Salary based on experience and qualifications Salary distributed over 12 months Approximately 10 weeks off during the summer Two weeks off for Christmas break Supportive Christian school environment Opportunities for professional growth and leadership How to Apply Interested candidates should submit: Resume Professional references Applications and inquiries may be sent to: nparamore@clarendonhall.net Nicholas E.
