3 years (Required) Dyslexia Experience (Required) Teacher Certification (Preferred) Full Job Description Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person Orton-Gillingham-certified teacher to homeschool a 10 year old boy in 5th grade at his location in Covington TN 38019, north of Memphis. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position Monday-Thursday mornings from 9am-12pm teaching just one student that pays $100/hour ($1200/week + drive time) . This opportunity will begin in August for the upcoming school year. Looking for a teacher to homeschool a 10 year old boy who has advanced dyslexia, dysgraphia and anxiety. He is smart and does ok, but has extreme anxiety about the classroom environment and a severe negative reaction to learning and to school. The teacher will plan and implement daily lessons using Orton techniques and a parent-approved curriculum. (The parents are willing to collaborate with the teacher regarding which curriculum will be used, but the teacher will need extensive dyslexia training and expertise to implement appropriate accommodations.) The right teacher will be kind, easy going, empathetic and encouraging. Looking for a teacher who is patient and consistent, who is capable of supporting the student's academic growth in a homeschool environment. Orton-Gillingham certification and at least 3 years prior teaching experience is required. Prior experience with students who have dyslexia is also required. Teacher certification is preferred. Teacher candidates should have a minimum BA, and prior experience with high-functioning special needs students who are experiencing anxiety is a plus.
