PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subjectlevel assigned.
Special KnowledgeSkills:
Knowledge Pre-K Guidelines and Early Childhood curriculum and instruction Relevant and current training in the teaching area assigned.
Experience:
At least three years successful classroom teaching experience (early childhood preferred)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Strategies . Assist with planning, implementation, and organization the classroom to facilitate language, literacy, numeracy, and brain development for PK students. . Facilitate staff development and model instructional strategies so that teachers can see the implementation best practices. . Promote a positive caring climate for learning. . Plan and use appropriate instructionallearning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs students assigned. . Conduct assessment student learning styles and use results for instructional activities. . Plan and facilitate purposeful assignments for teachers, teacher aide(s) andor volunteer(s). . Facilitate the use technology in the teachinglearning process. . Ensure compliance state mandates aligned to Early Childhood Education. Early Childhood Brain Development Coach Student Growth and Development . Conduct demonstration teaching with assigned teachers and related staff. . Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing. . Assume responsibility for extracurricularoutside activities as assigned by the campus principal. . Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission the school district. Classroom Management and Organization . Support teachers by providing effective classroom management tools and techniques in order to create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development students. . Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. . Assist in the selection books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Communication . Establish and maintain open lines communication with students and their parents. . Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members. . Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. Professional Growth and Development . Participate in the district staff development program. . Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement. . Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Policy Implementation . Keep informed and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. . Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. .
