Job Description

Overview Join us as an Afterschool Youth Leader and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents! Starting ASAP, you will lead afterschool programs that promote growth, learning, and fun while supporting children's social and emotional development. Responsibilities Plan and facilitate engaging afterschool activities that promote childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, tutoring, and recreational games. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by implementing individualized strategies aligned with their development plans. Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including administering basic first aid when necessary and maintaining a clean, hazard-free space. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community partners to support each child's unique needs and progress. Lead by example in demonstrating positive communication skills, Christian counseling principles (if applicable), and respectful interactions with children and staff. Document attendance, behavioral incidents, and program activities accurately to ensure smooth program operations. Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or early childhood education are a plus. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative independently. Passion for working with youth and fostering their growth through creative programming. Flexibility to start immediately and commit to the program schedule consistently.
