Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract If you have a passion for empowering students and expertise in supporting learners with visual impairments, this opportunity may be the perfect fit. A full-time position is available for an enthusiastic Teacher for the Visually Impaired. As a key collaborator in a dedicated educational setting, you'll make a real difference by helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. What you'll need to succeed: Hold an active Texas teaching license for the visually impaired. Experience developing and adapting materials for students with visual impairments is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families. Innovative approach to problem-solving and supporting varying student needs. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments, both individually and in small groups. Collaborating with classroom teachers and related service providers to adapt lessons and ensure accessibility. Conducting assessments to determine appropriate supports and accommodations for each student. Creating and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Serving as an advocate and resource for students, families, and school personnel. Keeping accurate records and monitoring student progress toward educational benchmarks.
