: Salaries for new classroom teachers are based on the salary ranges below (10-month work schedule) Min 5 years 13 Years 20 years Max $57,500 $63,100 $65,850 $69,050 $70,700 • Texas Education Code § 48.158 defines "classroom teacher as an educator who is employed by a school district and who, not less than an average of four hours each day, teaches in an academic instructional setting or a career and technology setting. A ll salary ranges are adopted annually by the Board of Trustees. The District ensures salary placement for new hires will be based on verified years of experience according to the Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service . These ranges should not be used to project salary amounts for subsequent years. In addition, teachers and librarians may qualify for the following stipends: Advanced Degree Stipends Performance and Other Supplemental Stipends Bilingual & ESL Stipends Grade Level Performance Lead Stipend Guidelines •IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CALCULATION OF PAY
The annual pay for this position is pro-rated based on the effective date of the assignment•EDUCATION
: Bachelors Degree Three years classroom teaching experience/related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCERTIFICATION
: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY
: Provides remediation and acceleration to meet the needs of individual students across various grade levels.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists students with language arts and math, science, and social studies strategies, interventions, and accommodations. 2. Utilizes campus data to help teachers determine appropriate services and support for students in need of additional core instructional support in class or to provide specific instructional intervention. 3. Disaggregates data to identify trends to help focus instruction. 4. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles. 5. Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations. 6. Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. 7. Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities. 8. Teaches or monitors students who have been identified as at risk for Reading, Math and/or Writing EOC assessments. 9. Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. 10. Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. 11. Manages student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. 12. Establishes and maintains openness of communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers. 13. Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. 14. Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. 15. Participates in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. 16. Collaborates with teams of teachers to support lesson planning and to facilitate the use of student work and performance data to make informed instructional decisions. 17. Successfully completes all professional development training within established timelines as required by the Texas Education Agency and the District. 18. Keeps informed of and complies with state, District, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. 19. Facilitates vertical articulation of the respective PreK 5 content program. 20. Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other required documents. 21. Attends and participates in faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required. 22. Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned Sponsors outside activities approved by the campus principal. 23. Supports and participates in before and after school tutoring and interventions. 24. Maintains confidentiality of information. 25. Reports to work on time every day. 26. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of Building Blocks and Four Blocks Framework Knowledge of Current Math Framework and TEKS Familiarity with current instructional intervention program Familiarity with current literacy and math coaching techniques Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information Strong organizational, effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors Ability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations as they occur Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the DistrictPHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
