This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for social sciences and languages, develop comprehensive curricula, and support students' academic growth. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a commitment to educational excellence, creating an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Paid positions are available, including internships, with a focus on nurturing curiosity and critical thinking skills through innovative teaching methods. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that incorporate language development, social studies concepts, and cultural awareness. Develop and adapt instructional materials using best practices in curriculum development and instructional design. Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management strategies to create a safe learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives. Mentor students by providing academic advising, supporting their social-emotional development, and fostering a growth mindset. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments in accordance with school policies. Engage with parents and guardians through conferences and communication channels to discuss student progress and goals. Stay current with educational research, standardized testing requirements, and best practices in literacy education, linguistics, and teaching methodologies. Skills Strong knowledge of social studies content areas combined with proficiency in Spanish language instruction. Experience in curriculum development tailored for middle school learners with diverse needs. Excellent classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment conducive to student success. Ability to utilize learning technology tools effectively for instructional purposes. Demonstrated skills in mentoring, instructional design, research, and higher education teaching practices. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and literacy education strategies to support academic achievement. Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, engaging parents, and working with students from varied backgrounds. Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, instructional coordination, and maintaining detailed records. Experience working with students requiring special education services or behavioral management support is a plus.
