Teaching Full Job Description About Kids Soar:
Kids Soar is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education and service. We believe every child deserves access to fun, meaningful learning experiences that help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Overview We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Part-Time Summer Program Teacher to join our team for the 2026 summer session. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, embraces creativity, and is ready to make learning fun through themed activities tied to the program's weekly "state" explorations. Various shifts available between 7:30am and 6:00pm.
Program Theme:
"Stars, Stripes & State Surprises" This summer, we're taking kids on a cross-country adventure—without ever leaving town! Each week, children "visit" different U.S. states to explore their unique cultures, foods, traditions, and landmarks. From peach cobbler in Georgia to jazz music in Louisiana, this program brings America to life through crafts, games, storytelling, music, cooking, and hands-on discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and assist with educational and enrichment activities that align with weekly state themes Prepare and facilitate crafts, games, music, storytelling, cooking projects, and group activities Support children's development through hands-on, inquiry-based learning Encourage a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and activity space Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive educational community. Communicate with parents and program leadership as needed Collaborate with other teachers, volunteers, and staff to ensure program goals are met Track weekly participation, "passport stamps," and student progress
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in an educational, camp, or enrichment setting Strong organizational and classroom management skills Creative mindset and enthusiasm for interactive, theme-based learning Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Background check required
Preferred:
Coursework or degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain) We invite qualified candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching to apply for this rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students.
