We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate School Age Classroom Teacher to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who is energetic, creative, and committed to supporting children's development in meaningful and engaging ways.
General Position Description:
The School Age Teacher supports the School Age Classroom Coordinator by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. The school age teacher must implement a quality school age program that's fun and engaging while also developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The School Age Teacher observes and documents children's interests and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. The School Age Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively collaborate with staff, and resolve parental concerns. School Age teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the School Age Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of school age program activities and encourage participation by children. Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, reports, and our electronic communication system Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Help ensures smooth, daily transitions for children. Follow all program policies and state regulations. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Employment type:
Part-time during the school year (24-28 hours a week), full-time during the summer (40-hours a week)
