Job Overview Sacred Heart Catholic School in Shawano, WI is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Middle School English Language Arts teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a WRISA-accredited Catholic school serving students from 3-year-old Preschool through 8th grade, dedicated to providing a strong academic and religious foundation. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards. Educate students on grammar, composition, literature, and language arts. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment. Utilize learning technology to enhance instruction and student engagement. Provide academic advising to support students' educational journeys. Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback. Foster a love for reading and writing through innovative literacy education strategies. Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and improve teaching methods. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and techniques. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field is required. Experience working with students in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning atmosphere. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support diverse learners. Familiarity with literacy education strategies and copy editing skills is a plus. Understanding of linguistics and its application in teaching the English language is beneficial. Proficiency in utilizing learning technology for instructional purposes is preferred.
