00 Biweekly Location Prescott, AZ Job Type Casual Part Time (Less than 20 hours/week) Job Number 2026-00126 Department Art Gallery Opening Date 04/29/2026 Description Benefits Description of Position Under the supervision of the Art Gallery Manager, the Art Gallery Assistant/Interpreter provides a friendly, knowledgeable experience for gallery visitors by interpreting artwork media, processes, styles, and providing artist information. In addition, duties and responsibilities include:
  • Assuring the safety of the artwork from theft or damage
  • Maintaining assigned work schedule, communicating changes to gallery manager
  • Becoming familiar with exhibit and Performing Arts Center event schedules
  • Assisting with exhibition installation, maintenance, and closing
  • Assisting with data entry, record keeping, and mailings
  • Providing assistance for visiting campus & community groups
  • Answering phone inquiries, checking messages, and returning calls as needed
  • Maintaining gallery signage and handouts
  • Selling of artwork following sales procedures (includes handling cash, check, and credit card sales)
  • Keeping art gallery and storage areas clean and organized
  • Working on special projects assigned by the Art Gallery Manager (type artwork bios and mailing lists, update and organize gallery notebooks, maintain gallery fixtures, research art/artists/art styles, etc.)
  • Other related duties as assigned This is a part-time position, working between 10-19 hours per week. Must be available for varying work hours, including evenings and weekends. Minimum Expectations & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, etc.) Preferred Skills & Abilities
  • Education and experience above minimum required
  • Current or former art student at Yavapai College
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and interest in art (visual and/or performing)
  • Work experience in a community college/higher education work environment Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
