Summary:

CICONIX is seeking an Assistant Registrar to support the National Museum of Health and Medicine (NMHM) in Silver Spring, MD..About the

Role:

• Provides administrative and technical support to the Registrar in the development and administration of policies and procedures for the acquisition, de-accession, loan, receipt, shipment, and care and handling of museum collections and individual artifacts.
• Assists in the development of forms and recordkeeping systems to maintain documentation and inventory of collection materials and artifacts.
• Maintains and reconciles central museum registration numbering system for collection objects.
• Assists in maintaining current inventories of collection objects at all collection storage facilities and aids in developing long range plans for museum storage needs.
• Coordinates these activities with curators, collection managers, conservators, and senior museum staff within the Museum.
• Process new acquisitions.
• Process Loans.
• Support exhibit and public programs and collections management divisions as required.
• Remains current in the museum registrar field through review of museum periodicals, attending professional conferences, and other continuing education programs, as appropriate.
• Receives OSHA required annual physical for lab technician.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma required.

Experience:

• Three (3)
• Five (5) years of experience.

Security & Background Check:

• U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.
