Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Art About Agriculture Assistant for the College of Agriculture at Oregon State University (OSU). The student Art About Agriculture Assistant will support the College of Agricultural Sciences' Art About Agriculture program. This position reports to and works closely with the Directing Curator. The program's various projects include art exhibitions (on-campus and touring), art loans (on campus and external clients), updating databases, physical inventories (on and off campus), and working with the Permanent Collection of contemporary art. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism Position Duties 40% General support: The Art About Agriculture assistant supports the Art About Agriculture Permanent Collection and the College of Agricultural Sciences Art Collection. Tasks include updating and maintaining three databases, conducting physical inventory and condition reports, artwork preparation and storage, documentation, research, file maintenance, and other tasks as assigned. 20% Art exhibitions: Art About Agriculture hosts numerous exhibitions annually: Art About Agriculture Competition and Touring Exhibition, Strand Gallery exhibitions (440 Strand Agriculture Hall), special projects, and other opportunities for public engagement. The Art About Agriculture assistant helps the Directing Curator with artwork packing and transport, installation, documentation, tracking, open call submissions processing, wall labels, signage, curation, and other tasks as assigned. 30% Art loans: Art About Agriculture artworks can be loaned out to secure, safe, and publicly accessible display spaces throughout Oregon and beyond. The vast majority of art loans are within the OSU Corvallis campus. The Art About Agriculture assistant works with existing and prospective clients to identify display spaces, select artwork, curate and install art, keep accurate records, and track loans. 10% Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found : hr.oregonstate.edu/student-employment-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requirements Must be academically enrolled in a high school,munity college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

Additional Required Qualifications Attention to detail andanization. Excellent writing, research, and IT skills. Experience handling, packing, and transporting fragile objects. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop and InDesign). Possess a high level of initiative and ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to relate andmunicate with CAS colleagues and fine artsmunities. Flexibility and follow-through on work assignments. Ability to drive OSU Motor pool vehicles including cargo vans. Preferred (Special) Qualifications Prior experience handling, packing, and transporting fragile objects. Prior experience maintaining records and databases. Familiarity withmon hand tools and hardware. Studying within the College of Agricultural Sciences, strong interest in STEAM education, and appreciation for visual art.
