Job Description

Site Assistant (Museum Store) 1200 9th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 From $13 an hour - Part-time, Full-time From $13 an hour -
Part-time, Full-time Position Narrative:
The role of the Site Assistant is multifaceted. Along with working the Museum Store, your other responsibilities will be to clean and maintain both attractions and other facilities. This position must keep properties presentable. This position is required to work at the Railroaders Memorial Museum & Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Manage cash drawers when working Relay merchandise orders to the Museum Site Supervisor Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system and admission system at each site Restock the Museum Store as needed Answer, respond and forward relevant phone calls Provide a superior guest experience and ensure the safety of visitors Assist with special events and facility care Tracking of membership information Upkeep of restroom facilities and services Snow shoveling/removal, light landscaping as needed Any other general duties around the site(s) that may be assigned
Reporting:
The Site Assistant reports directly to the Museum Site Supervisor, which reports to the
Director of Operations Compensation:
Hourly Wage 40% discount on store merchandise Free Family Membership for both attractions This position is Full-Time, seasonal. Our season is April 1-October 31. November-March is our off-season and is work as needed by the employer. You may be laid off during the off-season. Employee is able to collect unemployment, if necessary during these months.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Three years of pertinent experience preferred (retail, facilities, etc) An appreciation for local history, railroad heritage, and/or engineering a plus

Dependability above all The ability to think quickly on your feet Excellent communication skills, verbal and written The ability to work weekends and some holidays, if necessary
Requirements:
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain clearance Must be able to work with children and the general public Must be able to maintain professional, ethical, and moral attributes Must be able to follow Employee Handbook guidelines Must have access to personal vehicle Must be able to lift 60 lbs and utilize steps This employer does not provide health coverage.
