Job Description
Duties include greeting and assisting Arts Center patrons; providing set-up assistance to renters and caterers; enforcing safety regulations and arts center use policies; executing emergency evacuation procedures when necessary; and assisting teachers and students during children's arts and crafts classes. Duties also include the ability to operate a personal computer to prepare and update various reports; serving as ticket taker / scanner, usher or box office worker; training volunteer ushers; light housekeeping duties; and properly maintaining and restoring event spaces, which includes minor lifting up to 50 pounds moving lobby furniture, signs and other materials. A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of customer service experience in a retail or other high public contact environment is required. Good communication and customer service skills are essential, and an appreciation of visual and performing arts is beneficial. Duties require frequent walking and standing. There are no regularly scheduled hours; will work on an as-needed basis, per event bookings, including day, evening and weekend hours.
