Job Description Open to lay people and clergy. St John's is seeking a dynamic Director of Children's Formation to lead and nurture the spiritual growth of our youngest members. This vital role involves designing faith-based programs and creating a welcoming environment for children and families. As a leader in our community, you will play a key role in shaping the spiritual foundation for future generations. St John's is the historic downtown parish in the heart of the Home of Civil Rights, just yards away from the Equal Justice Initiative's museums and memorials. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive children's faith formation curricula. Lead and support a team of teachers and volunteers and staff dedicated to children's spiritual education. Organize and oversee children's events and special programs that foster community and spiritual growth. Collaborate with parents and church leadership to promote family involvement in faith development. Work creatively and collaboratively with a team of 9 staff members. Experience Proven leadership experience in education, within a church or faith-based organization or in a public or private school. Excellent communication skills for engaging children, parents, volunteers, and church members. Experience in event planning for large or small children's programs and activities Ability to innovate in ways that that foster spiritual growth while promoting inclusivity.
